Miranda’s Story

I spent my formative years attending Weston Public Schools as a METCO student, where I excelled both academically and athletically, serving as captain of the basketball team. However, it's only now, as I navigate educational options for my own daughter in Boston, that I reflect on feeling disconnected from my own community. The prospect of sending her on a bus to a town where she would likely be a minority, with few teachers who share her background, is deeply troubling. Motivated by these reflections, I am proud to contribute as the event producer for the Boston Desegregation and Busing Initiative, commemorating its 50th anniversary
